Budget
The Youth Achievement Foundation is privately funded and currently supports mentoring programs in Garland, Houston, Irving and South San Antonio, Texas. Each city represents a separate cost center within an overall corporate framework.
Budgets are approved annually by the Board of Directors. Most of our funding comes in the form of unrestricted donations which are distributed throughout the state on a need basis, as determined by our Board of Directors. We also receive several “restricted” grants where the donor directs us to use their contributions in specific cities or for specific purposes.
Records of our donations and expenses are reported annually to the Internal Revenue Service using IRS form 990. These records are available upon request and can also be viewed by the public at: www.guidestar.org
